As a seller you need to:
● Be at least 18 years of age, or selling under the supervision of a legal guardian or parent
● Take responsibility for all activities regarding password and account.
● Ensure business transparency and maintain high-quality products and standards. Remember, Jumia does routine quality checks for verification.
● Maintain price parity for your products, both in Jumia and other platforms. For instance, you shouldn’t sell a product at a lower price on another platform than the price listed on Jumia.
● Grant Jumia access to your products, branding materials, and trademarks for promotional purposes.
● Invest in, or carry campaigns to promote your product.
● Complete the registration process and obtain a Tax Identification Number (TIN)
● Ensure no product is out of stock. Maintain zero percent Out Of Stock Rate
● Maintain a quality Return Rate of less than 2%
● Have a customer product rating of not less than 3 stars
● Maintain a Ready-to-Ship policy within 24 hours

Jumia Seller Fees:

Jumia doesn’t charge sellers looking to build their business on the platform, not unless the seller gets to make a sale. Here, Jumia earns from sellers as per the Revenue Share agreement.


What are the commissions on Jumia ?

As a basic vendor, you will only pay the commissions on each item you sell. The commission depends on the category of your item and is a percentage of the selling price. However, our minimum commission level was revised to 100NGN For items sold in Health and beauty and Baby Products. All other categories aside the ones stated are 300 NGN per item sold. There is no minimum commission for Fashion and Groceries category. This means that if the commission to be charged on a delivered item is less than 100NGN or 300 NGN as previously mentioned, we will apply a flat rate of 100 NGN or 300 NGN. How To Create A Jumia Store From Scratch

As a new seller, you undergo a 3-step process before you can start selling.
You complete registration, undergo training, then list your products ready to start selling. Registration To sell on Jumia, you have to register as a vendor, a process that takes around 5 minutes.

MY STRATEGIES FOR SCALING IT ON JUMIA


Section 1

* Never price too low and never price too high. Always make final profit around 30-60% depending the type of product.



The above product is "Teeth whitening" is about 300 naira. The package weight is 0.088kg

10pcs will cost: 3k
10pcs will weigh 0.88kg let assume 1kg

Shipping cost for 1k is about 2.5k

Total cost: 3k + 2.5k = 5.5k

Landing cost of each product is 5.5k/10 = 550naira

Expenses for each product:
*Jumia commission fee: 300naira
Note: jumia minimum commission fee is 300naira
*Promotion and other cost should be about 200naira
Total 500 naira for each product

Landing cost is 550naira and expenses for each product is 500 naira.

That's 1050naira for cost of each product without profit.

Our profit should be about 30-60%

Will Sell for around 1365naira - 1680naira

Jumia offer promotional packages for their seller to have their products ontop of the list for maximum exposure.

That alone will captive buyers to buy from us even if the product price is a little bit high.
